How It All Started
Innovate Now Inc. was founded in 2010 in Cambridge, Ontario, with a straightforward idea: small and mid-sized businesses deserve the same caliber of IT support and software development that large enterprises take for granted, without the overhead of building an entire technology department in-house.
What started as an independent consulting practice quickly grew into a full-service IT solutions provider. Over twelve years as a principal consultant, our founder served manufacturing, logistics, nutraceutical, and compliance-driven clients across Ontario, acting as their outsourced technology department. Every engagement was driven by one principle: understand the business first, then build the technology to fit.

Enterprise technology projects don't fail by accident. The patterns are consistent: unclear requirements, late architectural decisions, and leadership that leans too heavily toward either business or technology but not both. Someone who can run a discovery session with operations and finance in the morning, review a database schema in the afternoon, and present a clear delivery roadmap by the end of the week is not common. That has been the focus of Tufail's work for over 23 years: stabilizing complex enterprise environments, bringing them to production readiness, and keeping them there.
His career spans some of the most demanding environments in enterprise IT: SAP MM/PM rollouts at British American Tobacco, senior support at IBM Canada, and IT project management at Agrium Advanced Technologies. He spent 12 years as principal consultant at Innovate Now and served as IT Manager at Sowa Tool & Machine in Kitchener. Each role deepened his ability to bridge the gap between business leaders and technical teams.
He leads ERP implementations, cloud migrations, and broader transformation programs with clear governance, structured delivery, and financial discipline, so projects stay on track, stay within budget, and deliver measurable results once live. Security is built into every environment from the start: zero-trust architecture, firewall hardening, endpoint detection, Microsoft 365 and identity security, vulnerability management, and incident response, all aligned with frameworks such as NIST and PIPEDA.
He also acts as a fractional IT Director for small to mid-sized businesses across southern Ontario, providing senior-level infrastructure oversight, escalation support, vendor management, and strategic direction without the cost of a full internal IT department.
